Who we are

We are an inspired and dedicated educator, her techie neighbor, her supportive friends, and her loving family — trying to do our own small part to help kids launch into a literate life.

Heidi Lindner is our inspired educator of 30 years. She was born and raised in Beaverton, Oregon, and she stayed in the area because she wanted to give back to the community that inspired her to be an educator. Her goal is to cultivate independent thinkers who can help our world be a better place.

“I started doing this because books are a pathway to a literate life, and I want kids to know that reading goes beyond what they learn in school,” Heidi says. “Through literacy children can be free thinkers. At the most basic, literacy enables people to do simple things like read road signs, follow directions on a prescription bottle, or complete a job application. Beyond that, literacy promotes and feeds curiosity. It opens people up to a world that they otherwise might not have the opportunity to experience. Literacy provides inspiration to think about and act on social justice and to question the world around us.”
